HVAC Ratio

When choosing a HVAC college program, the first thing that you must find out is that your preferred choice of college you have selected has the necessary accreditations. We cannot stress this point highly enough, since it means that the training program imparted will be at par with the standards specified by regulated HVAC organizations.

The most prominent accrediting agencies for HVAC training programs are the NCCEA, which is the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration, HVAC Excellence, North American Technician Excellence and Research, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Select a college that has at least one accreditation.

It is also important to try and find small class numbers, which means you will receive one to one attention from the instructors. A good HVAC college will also have an on college science laboratory with modern equipment. Before enrolling make sure you visit and explore the campus and get a feel of the place, the instruction rooms, the facilities and talk to the senior lecturers, if they are available. You should also find out whether there is any flexibility in scheduling classes for working students, and also how you could go about requesting financial aid, if you might need it.

It seems like every single day Savoy Engineering Groups telephone rings with contractors who have just learned that their municipality now requires an ACCA Certified Manual J8 load calculation. These hard-working individuals are intimitaded by the new IECC requirements that are sweeping the US.

Chapter 4.9: HVAC System Short type questions 1. Define ‘tons of refrigeration’? Ans Energy Efficiency Ratio mainly used in air condition systems. Performance of smaller units and roof top units are frequently measured in EER rather than kW/ton.

9. Energy Performance Assessment of HVAC Systems QUESTIONS 1) What is meant by a ton of refrigeration? 2) Define the terms net refrigeration capacity, COP, energy efficiency ratio.

Heating or Cooling of Air – without moisture gain or loss – straight line on psychrometric chart since humidity ratio is constant Chapter 3 – Basic HVAC Calculations Cooling and Dehumidifying Air Moist air brought down below its dew point temperature

The damper position and therefore the mixed air temperature and humidity ratio are not linearly related to damper position. After the mixing box has been commissioned, the results of the functional test can be used to calibrate a model of the actual behavior. Te Tr
