HVAC Design Course

When you decide to pick a HVAC college program, the most important point that you must ascertain is that the choice of college you have chosen has the necessary accreditations. This is ultra important, since it means that the training provided will be at the required standard specified by regulated HVAC organizations.

The premier accrediting agency for HVAC training programs is the NCCEA, the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration, HVAC Excellence, North American Technician Excellence and Research, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Select a college that has a minimum of at least one accreditation.

It is also important to try and find small class numbers, which means you will receive one on one attention from the program teachers. The best colleges teaching HVAC courses will also have an on-campus science lab with professional-grade tools. Before enrolling make sure you visit and explore the campus and get a feel for the place, the teaching areas, the facilities available and talk to the senior lecturers, if they are available. You should also find out whether there is any flexibility in scheduling classes for working students, and also how you should go about procuring financial aid, if you are eligible.

Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems (HVAC) are in for hot job prospects and cool wages. Also known as climate control, those who are trained to perform maintenance, repair and install HVAC systems will see an increase in employment faster than average for other occupations. This is according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), through the year 2014.

So you’re ready to start your design build remodeling project. You’ve hired yourself a contractor and are raring to go right? Wrong!
